I kind of had mixed reviews about this collection. I mean I like Mr. de Lisi alot, but that’s because he has perfected the designing of clothes for the more mature consumer with out making it look as if your stepping out of your great grandmother’s closet or having flashback of the 90’s…the 1890s. This collection did provide more fun pieces than not, like the ’sexfied’ deep v-neck mallot swimsuit, rainbow colors on a chiffon gown, metallic disk shift dress, blue/green/black triangle beaded dress reminiscent of something Diana Ross would have wore in Mahogany, and the floppy hats were a favourite — tapping into the inner 70’s Carly Simon in all of us.

However, though the collection had its fun moments I wasn’t convinced Ben’s customers would be frolicking on the beach this Spring/Summer ‘08 in black hot pants and rainbow sequined tunic. But you never know…isn’t 45 like the new 25?
