“Flash….ahhhhhh!”
I’ve been a fan of Mr. Aadnevik’s ever since his Spring/Summer ‘06 collection. This is one designer that just doesn’t seem to disappoint me. Kristian’s S/S ‘08 collection proved to be just as fabulous as his previous ones, taking inspiration from heros such as Barberalla and Flash Gordon. Whether its with the accessories that he pairs with his looks, or the design of the looks themselves, Kristian Aadnevik’s pieces are always sweet enough to stay feminine, but tempting enough to explore that inner “bad girl/diva-in-disguise”.
The runway was graced with models wearing sheer chiffon babydoll dresses adorned with rhinestones on the neckline and hem, body-conscious dresses that applauded the female form, colors of nude, black, metallic hues, soft silver, and the shoes..oh the shoes — beautiful pink/silver peep-toe stilletoes. My favourite piece, an angelic strapless dress adorned of silver feathers…makes for a beautiful Phoenix.
After looking at this collection of sweet “superhero” innocence, I’m now prepared to ask Kristian, “what flight of fancy will he take us on next season?” Bravo Aadnevik!
