International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award

Are you an aspiring fashion designer? Are you located in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar or Saudi Arabia? Are you between the ages of 25-35 years with two years of experience in the fashion sector? This may be your chance to represent the Gulf region in the first International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award!

“Ten entrepreneurs from around the world will win an all expenses paid trip to the prestigious international London Fashion Week in February 2008, a ‘Master-class’ with top UK designer and successful businessman Sir Paul Smith, as well as the opportunity to compete for the title of International Young Fashion Entrepreneur 2008.

The overall International Award winner will also receive 7,500 (GBP) to spend on a collaborative project with the British Council on promoting links between the fashion industry in their country and the UK. ”

It’s an exciting opportunity for a young designer to be seen.

Fashion Industry News: Improvement of Model Sizes in London Fashion Week

The British Fashion Council acknowledged the improvement of the models displaying the latest collections during London Fashion Week, The Independent reports. However, they will not come to a decision on how the fashion industry fared as a whole until October 6th in which a debate will be held regarding the issue.

All eyes turn to Milan’s Fashion Week to see how the fashion industry has done to combat the issue of dangerously underweight models.

Twiggy Returns in Marks and Spencer’s Fall Collection

The Mail unveiled Marks and Spencer’s fall collection with one of the world’s most famous models, Twiggy. She did the collection justice. Of course it helped that it is one of Marks and Spencer’s best looking fall collection in a few years.

The new Autograph range features wonderfully tailored coats, long skirts, and wide pants. Neutral colors make the fall collection appear sophisticated and modern.
